Our History
Next Level Martial Arts is part of the Christian Martial Arts System (a sports ministry of Church at the Beach). T.C.M.A.S. is a system of Christian Martial Arts schools, studios, and programs that make their base out of churches, gyms and Christian schools in the San Diego area. We operate Martial Arts dojos at local churches, gyms and schools to facilitate Christ- Centered martial arts training.
We have been in existence since 1997 in Texas, Virginia, and California. Since 2004 we have made our main home here in San Diego and have started programs all over San Diego County. Including Heritage Christian School the largest homeschool co-op in America.
The founder of The Christian Martial Arts System, 6th Degree Black Belt Master Instructor Eric E. Maggio, M.Div. is an ordained Baptist Minister who holds a Masters Degree from Truett Theological Seminary, and currently serves as the Senior Pastor at Mar Vista Baptist Church. He has been teaching karate for over 25 years at churches and schools, and was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2016.
